Katsina lawmaker wants Masari to relax lockdown


A member of the Katsina state House of Assembly representing Safana LGA, Abduljalah Haruna Runka has called on Governor Aminu Bello Masari to relax the lockdown clamped on parts of the local government areas of the state because of COVID-19, to enable rural communities actively mobilise vigilantes against Banditry attacks

Runka who submitted a bill before the state Assembly on kidnapping and banditry bedeviling his constituency and others LGA, urged members of the house to assist the people of the area by urging the Governor to relax the lockdown order so as to enable the residents of Safana rally against the hoodlums and all forms of attacks.

The bill against bandittry was seconded by Ibrahim Kaka Machika, member representing Sabuwa constituency, who also called on the state government to as matter of urgency redouble efforts in restoring peace and security to those areas to discourage the people from resorting to self help.

In their contributions to the bill two other members of the Assembly, Jabiru Yauyau Batsari and Hon. Hassan Goma Dandume called on President Muhammedu Buhari to look into the growing insecurity and Banditry attacks bedeviling the state
